1&1 is a very old and respected company. Their prices aren’t bad and their storage limit is on the low side but their respected company name carries a lot of weight.

They use Open-Xchange which is a Linux based platform. This lowers the cost per user quite considerably without compromising on service levels or features. The range of services and price point seems competitive, and they haven’t let me down yet. I use Linux based systems and have confidence in them. The 1&1 service doesn’t need any computer knowledge at all. If you can use a browser you can use this. Last but not least, who can argue with a 5Gb mailbox. Its more than most of the other companies offer!
